Date Night

Hello everyone! Sorry about the MIA status...school and work have officially taken over my life but that is no excuse! About a week ago, Sean took me out on a surprise date and I had no clue what to expect or how to dress. So I put together a casual, yet cute and fun outfit! I love it. Just recently I did something that I haven't done in a few months, I shopped for new clothes! Crazy, I know. It's not like I haven't wanted to, it's just that I couldn't really find the time to do so...but anyway. I hit up H&M and a lot of other cute clothing stores and put together this kawaii date night outfit! I also got new glasses! FINALLY. After two years wearing the same ol' boring frames, I finally got to change em. They are seriously my favorite part of this whole outfit. They are semi-cat eye, with cute leopard print. Also, this entire 'photo shoot' was done by yours truly...it's pretty much why all these pictures are kind of disastrous looking. Also, this was my final days of my camera actually working, I'm still on the look out for a nicer bloggin' camera that I could rely on. I've narrowed down my choices, now I gotta save up!

Hair Tutorial: Dutch Flower Braid

Hello everyone! So just the other day, Rachel came over and helped me out by being one of my models for another hair tutorial! I originally posted this on Instagram and everyone raved about it so I thought why not just do a quick tutorial! It looks super complicating but it's actually really simple and lovely! You just have to know how to french braid! It takes a bit of time for me to do because I wanted it to look really tight. I wish I was talented enough to do this on myself but for some reason, I suck when it comes to my own hair. Rachel redyed her hair which is lookin' super awesome and when done in this dutch braid, looks super fuckin' sweet! I love the blend of colors and shades of blues and purples. She hates her roots but I think it blends really well and looks kinda cool! I also recently bought a teasing brush (finally) and I couldn't wait to use it! I didn't really use it for this particular hairdo but expect more tutorials featuring it! Anywho! Please enjoy this lovely tutorial!

Products you'll need:
Clear elastic bands
Bobby pins
Flower clip

Part your hair to the side.
Take a small section of hair towards the front and begin to french braid.

Take your braid and slightly curve the braid around the temple and continue to french braid sideways.
Start to curve the french braid again and continue to french braid sideways.

After completing the sideways french braid, continue to braid the remaining hair and tie with your clear elastic bands.
Slowly and carefully pull apart your braid.
This part is kinda tricky. This is where you will make your 'flower' portion of the hairdo. Begin at the end of the braid and slowly roll the braid and pin it securely to the scalp. (I kind of wish I had three arms to take more pictures of this process)

Add your cute flower clip... and BOOM.
 DUTCH FLOWER BRAID!

I thought it came out so lovely and Rachel totally rocked it! I love it! It's one of my favorite hairdos to do and I think that Rachel's awesome colors go so well with the hairstyle. Give this one a try! It's a perfect day or night look.

Oh, and if you're wondering why these pictures have such amazing quality, it's because Rachel was kind enough to let me borrow her awesome point and shoot! It made editing so much easier because I really didn't need to do anything! My camera, at the moment, is slowly dying on me, so I'm currently looking for a new one!

Back to Schoooooool...

Back to school, back to school, to prove to dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ooooh, back to school, back to school...
If anyone gets that reference, I will praise you forever.
Anywho, here is a long awaited fashion post that I postponed from putting on this blog because I took these pictures earlier this month and I thought it would be perfect for the 'back to school' theme. I'm noticing that some schools are starting earlier and earlier! You could see how incredibly pale I am and how much sun I didn't get because realistically, I only had three vacation days this entire summer. I haven't been in a classroom for four months and going back on the 26th does not sound like a good time. I'm really hopeful for this coming school year though. More determined than ever before. It's weird because I feel like I have a plan and goal in mind for once. It took me around four years to finally figure out what path I want to take but I have to say, it's really liberating. I'm determined to work hard and get shit done. I know I always say stuff like that whenever a new school year starts but I feel so different about it this time around. I don't know if it's due to the fact that my birthday is less than a month away or if it's because I felt stuck for a very long time and I felt like I wasn't going anywhere or doing anything different with my life. I was stuck in a lame routine. I also thought a lot about this blog and the work that comes with it. I really had no direction or idea of what I wanted from this whole blogging experience...but something sparked in me. I guess people call that inspiration, right? After long talks with friends, family and boyfriend, I realized that it's really up to me to get shit done. If I wanted something, I had to be the one to obtain it. I want something that I can be proud of and I guess that's why I started this whole bloggin' thang. It was my little baby. Something I created and I can call my own. With the support and help from friends, it only got better. So I guess that's what I need and want from life. A goal that I can proudly show off and I truly think I found it. I have the greatest support team a gal can ask for, now it's up to me to get shit done.

Oh yeah, ps, I chopped off all my hair. I did it around the end of July. Another liberating experience. I heard that girls tend to chop off their hair during bad break ups or any other dramatic changes in their life. I just grew tired of taking care of that mane. Such a hassle.

Recipe: Cinnamon Swirl Cookies

Hello everyone! Or should I say good morning, everyone...? It's 3:00 A.M. on Sunday morning and I'm watching an It's always Sunny in Philadelphia marathon. ANYWHOS. So I was thinking of ways to make this blog more insightful and fun. One of my many hobbies is baking! Not only sweets but breads, pizzas and everything in between. There was an actual stint in high school where I really wanted to go to culinary school for baking. It has definitely become one of my major hobbies lately. I took a break from it for a while but I truly do miss it! On Saturday nights, Sean and I would rent several horror movies and homemake a gigantic pizza together. Good times. This past Friday was Sean's dad's birthday so I definitely didn't want to show up empty handed. I love homemade baked goodies! I think they make the perfect gift for everyone and anyone! I saw this recipe through pinterest and tried adapting this recipe. Check it out. The awesome thing about recipes is that you can tweak it to your own personal liking. The original recipe asks for cookie mix, but I ditched it and added powdered sugar instead. I just recently found out that powdered sugar is mostly corn starch. Iiiiiiinteresting stuff. Anyways, try out this yummy recipe!
