Insta-fashion/DIY nailz

Soooo...I'm kind of in love with nail art and I was thinking of what new posts I could do and I just thought that combining a Insta-fashion post and a DIY nail post would be perfect! This whole time, I've been doing fashion post after fashion post and I wanted to change it up. My next post is going to be a DIY crafting post that I'm super stoked on so stay tuned, friends! In the meantime, here are some of my nail art attempts. I am in no means a professional when it comes to nails but I do love to try. I'm trying to think of new and exciting designs so if you guys have any suggestions, let me know and I could try and attempt it!

The cutest whittle manicure. I'm looking at this picture now and realizing how freaken long my nails were. It's kind of gross but anyway. I saw a tumblr post a while ago and it totally inspired me. I love cats and manicures, so why not combine them! Now, I know these little critters look more like weird asian animals, but this was my first attempt! You definitely need a sturdy hand for this but you get the hang of it after a while! I started off with a simple french manicure then extended the manicure and drew the ears and head of the cat then outlined it with a simple nail art brush in black. I also tried adding a nail full of polka dots but it looks more like a sad Dalmatian pattern.
This one was super cute and simple! Black and white, of course. I love combining both colors when it comes to nail art and I'm in love with polka dots! Anyone could do this one. I started doing the bottom half of my nails. You don't have to paint your entire nail, just half and then go over the other half of your nail with an opposing color. Add a few polka dots then BOOM. Beautiful manicure.
This is just one of my favorite colors ever. A color called 'Endless Blue' by Sinful Colors. This color is super cheap (2 bucks at Target) and super bold and bright. It's a good polish for being super cheap. Doesn't chip for weeks and it's just an overall beautiful color.
I love the Sally Hansen's Salon Nail Effects. Super easy to apply and NO dry time! How awesome is that? You literally fit em to your nail, stick em on and you're left with a beautiful manicure. They have so many designs and colors to choose from and it's about the price of a bottle of regular polish. Super cute and it lasts. I usually finish with a top coat and leave it be. Check it out!
I'm in love with these 'cartoon' nails! They remind me of pop art or really cute Japanese nails. I love it! They're actually not that hard to achieve. The hardest part for me was outlining the nail. You kind of need a sturdy hand to achieve this look. You could honestly use any color and the black and white outlines help make that color truly pop. Try it out!
Along with nail art, I'm obsessed with ombre...ombre ANYTHING. Hair, clothes and nails! I love the fading effect. It's really pretty to me. I originally wanted to try this out in bright pink but I realized, I don't have any pink polishes. But I do have bright and electric blues so I thought, why not! I used a make up sponge to help create this effect. It's a bit tricky at first but once you realize you don't need that much polish to coat your nail, you get the hang of it. I think practicing on paper with your make up sponge to achieve the effect you want would be best.

Well I hope you enjoyed this random nail art post! Expect a lot more!

Aye Aye Captain!

Hello matey! I hope you guys are enjoying this beautiful weekend! I'm super excited! Me and Sean are having a mega horror movie marathon. I'm super stoked! Two years ago, I was the biggest scared-y cat when it came to scary movies but I have definitely learned how awesome scary movies can be and now I'm kind of obsessed. I just recently saw 'The Purge' and realized my love for Ethan Hawke. Sean and I also just got our tickets for an advanced screening of 'The Conjuring'! Holy crap are we excited! You guys should check out http://www.lafilmfest.com! It's a huge 2 week long festival that shows independent movies and advance screenings. Check it out of you're in the LA area and get on dat shit. Another place you guys should check out is Tenju Tea House! We were renting movies today and I saw 'Tenju Tea House' next door and I wanted to check it out. It has smoothies, slushies and delicious specialty teas! It's amazing. Of course you have to get it with boba, duh.
Anywhos! So...I'm kind of obsessed with sailors. Every year, I always want to be a sailor for Halloween. I think my obsession started when I was a young girl, reading Sailormoon manga after Sailormoon manga and just drooling over their costumes. Sailor uniforms remind me of my childhood...is that weird? I just think they're so cute and fun! Anyway, enjoy!

Short hair, don't care!

Hello everyone!! Happy Sunday! I hope y'all are enjoying your last day of freedom before getting hit by the Monday blues. This weekend was absolutely gorgeous in California, it was the perfect weather to go outside and look extra cute! Sean snapped some pictures for my fashion post, which I realized I haven't done in some time. I miss it so much. Oh yeah, and if you couldn't tell from the title of this blog, I got my hair cut. FINALLY. No more long showers, no more waiting hours on end for my split ends to dry, no more knots, tangles and splits! YAY! This hair is so much more manageable for me since I am probably the laziest person ever when it comes to hair. I'm so happy with my decision to chop it all off. It's convenient, simple and cute! I also have been digging knee length stockings. I actually loved the look when I went to Japan and I saw a million school girls dressed in their uniforms. I think it's ultra cute. I've been sporting the look a lot lately, it's just a shame that it's summer now. I guess the next best option is to actually get my legs to tan. Too bad I just tend to burn. Anyways, check out the look!

Insta-fashion

Hello everyone! I hope y'all are doing well! I'm literally on my way to work as I type this. I thought today was the perfect day for a little insta-fashion post! Today I chose to wear a dress that's been hiding in my closet for about a year. I used to wear this dress all the time. It's super comfy, surprisingly. It drapes my body really nicely and it's a beautiful color. I love it! So here it is! Enjoy!

Shoes: Aldo
Dress: H&M
Ring: H&M
Make up: same ol' stuff
Lip color: Revlon's Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon
Hair: parted my hair to the side. I was honestly getting annoyed with all the hair in my face. Even contemplated cutting it. Silly me.
